Abstract
The bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa was isolated from patients of
burns in Al-Ramadi hospital and diagnosed according to its cultural , microscopic
and biochemical properties. sensitivity test of the bacterium against antibiotics was
established and the results appeared it was sensitive to the antibiotics Carbenicillin ,
Chloramphenicol , Rifampicin and Trimethoprim and resistant to the antibitcs
Amoxicillin , Ampicillin Clindomycin Cloxacillin , Nalidixic acid , Cephaloxin ,
Tetracyclin and Tobromycin . Results of mutagenesis showed resistance of the
bacterium to the lethal effect of nitrous acid and its sensitivity to the mutagenic effect
of the acid relative to the antibiotics Rifampicin and Chloramphenicol but not to the
antibiotics Carbenicillin and Trimethoprim .
