Cytotoxicity of Silver Nanoparticles Synthesized With the Assistant of Microwave

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are broadly designed for various application. In the current research silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been examined for their poisonous outcome on human lymphocyte and chicken embryo fibroblast cell line. AgNPs were synthesized by a simple and easy method from AgNO3 solution with glucose exposed to microwave radiation. The typical size of AgNPs were 30 nm with spherical shape. The cells which cultured with diverse concentrations of silver were examined for their viability using MTT assess, a photometric technique to conclude cell metabolism. The results show that the cell viability of the both cell type were diminished significantly (P<0.05) in dosage dependent mode, and the silver nanoparticles presented higher cytotoxicity to CEF than to human lymphocyte at the same concentration and time point.


Determination of the Inhibitory Efficacy of Iraqi Tribulus Terrestris l. Fruit Extract Against Some Types of Staphylococcus Aureus and Detection of Its Active Compounds

A total number of 50 Staphylococcus aureus (56.81)% from 88 isolates of Staphylococci were isolated and identified from wounds, burns, ear, urine, eyes, pus and skin boils, in laboratories of Maternity and Child Teaching Hospital, Ramadi Teaching Hospital, and Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital in Baghdad for the period from March to May/2017. Isolates diagnosis depended on microbial, cultural, and biochemical characteristics. Concentrations series of Tribulus terrestris ethanolic extract were prepared at concentrations of 3.125, 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50, and 100 mg/ml with inhibition zones of 0, 0, 11.3, 16.6, 21.3, and 25.6 mm respectively, minimum inhibitory concentration determined as 12.5 mg/ml. The results of GC-MS showed that extract contains many active chemical compounds most important which phytol, pyrrole, lupeol, taraxerone, saturated and unsaturated fatty acids that play essential role in growth inhibition of bacteria and have ability to reduce biofilm production, also many active groups were identified by using fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) technique. Results showed that ethanolic extract reduced the ability of S.aureus to produce the biofilm by using sub – MIC of 50 – 81.4 %.


Seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii in human and chickens (Gallus domesticus) with histological effects on the internal chicken organs in AL-Door district, Salahdin province

The present study included seroprevalence detection of Toxoplasma gondii in human and chickens (Gallus domesticus) in AL-Door district, Salahdin province, and the histological effects of T. gondii on some of internal organs (brain, kidneys, liver and muscles) from chickens. Positive seroprevalence result for human toxoplasmosis was recorded 22.3% with highest prevalence for positive IgG that reported 14.1%. Based on gender, significant increasing was recorded for toxoplasmosis in males 27.3% when compared with female 12.7%, while according to age, significant variances were reported among the age groups, the highest seroprevalence was 27.8% in age group 31-40 years. For seroprevalence of chicken toxoplasmosis, the percentage of positive results was 66.7%. Different histological effects were recorded in the current study such as congested blood vessels in the brain cortex tissue with vacuolation in the outer regions of brain, atrophied glomeruli in the renal cortex, masses of hepatocytes with presence of Kupffer cells, also cellular aggregation of fibroblast and WBCs in muscles.


Study The Effect Of Changing The Operational Parameters Of Diode Laser On The Tribolium castaneum (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae)

In this study, the effect of laser radiation on the Tribalium castaneum was examined in terms of changes in the external appearance of this insect in terms of shape and color, as well as the calculation of the percentage of death rate due to diode laser irradiation of wavelength (532 nm) and power (1 W) which was conducted at three distances (10, 15, 20)cm and exposure times (10, 15, 20)sec for each distance. The results showed an increase in the percentage of killers of the flour beetle in addition to increasing distortions where the distance between the insects and the laser source decreased and the exposure time increased. Note the results of this laser treatment effect in time stages, after (12 hours) and then note after pass (24 hours) and after (48 hours) and then (72 hours). The rate of killing was (100%) at the distances (20, 15) cm after (72 hours) after exposure to laser.


Callus inductions and Phytochemical Determination of Artichoke (Cynara scolymus) growing in Iraq

The artichoke (Cynara scolymus) belongs to Asteraceae family. It is included in British and European Pharmacopeia and has long–used in traditional medicine in several countries. The plant primarily grows in North Africa and Mediterranean; in addition, it is cultivated around the world. Artichoke is wildly distributed in Iraq at the watery lines and boundary of the field. The aim of study was to induce callus from leaves as explants, and to compare between contents of total phenolic and total flavonoids that extracted from the induced callus and from leaves. The induced callus was maintained on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA) and Benzyl Adenine (BA). The highest percentage of callus (100%) was induced from the combination (5mg/l NAA plus 2 mg/l BA), followed by (86.67%) with the combination (3mg/l NAA plus 1mg/l BA). Two types of callus (friable and compact) were induced. The extract of friable callus produced 0.858 mg/g of total phenolic, while leaves extract produced 167.24 µg/ mg of total flavonoids. Auxins and cytokinins that added together in the culture medium seemed to be necessary for artichoke tissue culture.


Effect of iron chelating drug, Deferiprone and the water extract of green tea in the treatment of iron overload in local rabbits

The current study was designed to study and compare the effect of the iron chelating action of the green tea (Camellia sinensis) Aqueous extract of green tea at a concentration of 100 mg / 1 kg and compared with the oral medicine , Deferiprone used to remove iron from the body. 25 mg / kg body weight . and the study of some of the biochemical variables associated with iron overload. Ferrous sulphate, (tablets200mg) was used to raise the proportion of iron in laboratory animals. . The laboratory animals (rabbits weighing 1 .to 1.5 kg) were given 10 mg / kg body weight,The treated groups were divided into four groups (five rabbits per group). The groups included the control group without treatment with any substance. The second group was treated with iron only and the third group was treated with iron with green tea. The fourth group was treated with iron with DeferiproneThe treatment of the four groups lasted for one month and then the animals were starved. The blood sample was withdrawn from the rabbits according to the usual laboratory methods. The study included determination of hepcidin, total iron binding capacity, ferritin, and serum iron ,Laboratory results showed significant increase (P ≤ 0.01) in the concentrations of hepecidin for the second group compared with control group and significant decrease (P ≤ 0.01) for the third group and the fourth group compared with the control groupAs for the ferritin, there was a significant increase (P ≤ 0.01) for the second and third groups, while the fourth group did not differ significantly compared to the control groupAs for TIBC, there was a significant increase (P ≤ 0.01) for the fourth group compared to the control group. A significant decrease was observed for the second and third groups compared with the control group at (P ≤ 0.01)Serum iron was found to have a low significant differences (P ≤ 0.01) for the second, third and fourth groups when compared to the control group.


Determination of Doxycycline Hyclate in pharmaceutical samples via Oxidative Coupling Reaction using Spectrophotometric method

This study involves the development of spectrophotometric method for determination of microgram a suggested mounts of doxycycline Hyclate (DCH) via oxidative coupling with 2,4,dinitrophenylhydrazine reagent (2,4-DNPH) in presence of potassium periodate(KIO4) in the alkaline medium (pH 12.6) to form a red colored dye which soluble in water and gives the highest intensity of absorption at λmax 528 nm. The method has been obeyed Beer's law in the concentration range 5-60 μ the molar absorptivity of 10771 L. mol-1. cm-1, Sandel Index value 0.0476 μ with the relative standard deviation of the method does not exceed its value 1.043 % and the correlation coefficient 0.998. The proposed method was applied successfully for the determination of doxycycline hyclate in its Pharmaceutical samples (Capsule).


Synthesis and study of a new dimers containing of thiazolidine ring

In this study, a new dimers containing a five-member ring heterocyclic were prepared. Three dimers were prepared from terminal acetelynic compounds by the oxidative coupling reaction . All compounds identification by Measured their melting point and by an infrared spectrometer FT-IR. Dimers were also identified by infrared and 1H-NMR spectra. The liquid crystalline properties of the dimers prepared were studied by an optical polarized microscope(OPM) with a Hot Stage and by (DSC). The dimers D1,D2 showed liquid crystalline properties nematic while the daimer D3 did not appears any liquid crystalline phase.


Structure and optical properties of pbI2 thin film by thermal evaporation technique

In this search structural, optical and electrical properties were studied by preparing a sample of lead iodide applied to glass bases by thermal evaporation process. The film showed a hexagonal crystalline shape. The value of the energy gap for a sample of 200 nm thickness is 2.9051 eV the intensity is at the plane (003) it’s equal 12.5 nm in this research the value of the energy gap was (2.15eV-2.33) eV and the electrical properties were studied for a sample of. The measurements were made for the electrical conductivity, mobility, carrier’s concentration and finally the Hall coefficient. The results are (1.038*10-5, 0.6727*10+2, 1.009*1012 and 2.631*106) respectively


Surface Structure for Silicon Nanoparticles

A model depend on ratio number atoms of the Surface to the internal atoms used to calculate the mean bonding length (dmean(r)) of silicon nanoparticles with radius (r) in the range of (1.2nm ≤ r ≤ 10nm). The results compared with the (dmean(r)) which measured from high resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM) in the range of (r), using AUTO CAD software for measuring nanoparticle radius and the spacing between adjacent fringes that correspond to dhkl – spacing. The results obtained that the theoretical model is in good agreement with the experiment for all (r) range. The lattice parameter (dmean(r)) are found to increases from (0.235nm) for bulk Si up to (0.262nm) for nanoparticles having a size down to 3nm, then it is increased sharply at about the critical radius of silicon nanoparticle (r = 1nm), which related to the atomic surface behavior.


A Proposed Method for Achieving the Confidentiality of Arabic Texts

Due to the rapid development of distributed computing systems, the use of local networks, and the huge expansion of the Internet, the process of maintaining the confidentiality of information becomes important and necessary. Encryption is one of the most important ways to keep information confidential and to prevent unauthorized people from disclosing this information. Many cryptographic algorithms have appeared in different ways and methods. But most of these algorithms have been devoted for encrypting texts in the English language. Because of the increasing important and sensitive information exchange in the Arabic language by users on the Internet, an urgent need has appeared to build dedicated encryption systems for the Arabic language. The aim of this research is to provide a proposed encryption method that uses the idea of combining the methods of transposition and substitution cipher for the purpose of Arabic texts confidentiality. This research depends on using diacritics in the Arabic language to perform the process of substitution cipher. The efficiency of the proposed method has been tested on different texts; the method provides high speed execution, the length of the encrypted texts is almost close to the clear text length, and the confidentiality of the resulting encrypted texts is high.


Determination of Lead and Cadmium Concentrations in the Blood of Workers at the Liquid Battery Factory in Baghdad,Applying Differential Pulse Polarography Method.

The concentrations of Pb2+ and Cd2+ in the blood of 30 persons working in the Liquid Battery Factory in Baghdad were measured applying the Differential Pulse Polarography (DPP) method. It was found that for the majority of the blood samples, the Pb2+ concentration valueswere acceptable and within the acceptable natural limits(10-20µg/100ml).Exceptionsare 4 samples which showed higher lead ion concentrations. The infected persons worked at a location with high lead presence in the factory. As for the measured Cd2+ concentrations, the results for all the blood samples showed normal values, within the defined acceptable concentration (5.4µg/100ml). However, onconsidering the other defined acceptableconcentration, as reported in the literature, (3µg/100ml), three workmen were found, to have higher Cadmium ion concentration in their blood. It was also found that, compared with the calibrated DPP results, themeasured Atomic Absorption Spectroscopic (AAS) results showed much higher concentration values and should therefore be not acceptable. The measured concentrationsofboth ionswere independent from the age of the workers. Inspections for the presence of Cu2+ ions in the blood samples failed in detecting any traces of it.


Fuzzy Neutrosophic Weakly-Generalized Closed Sets in Fuzzy Neutrosophic Topological Spaces

In this paper, we will define a new class of sets, called fuzzy neutrosophic weakly- generalized closed sets, then we proved some theorems related to this definition. After that, we studied some relations between fuzzy neutrosophic weakly-generalized closed sets and fuzzy neutrosophic α closed sets, fuzzy neutrosophic closed sets, fuzzy neutrosophic regular closed sets, fuzzy neutrosophic pre closed sets and fuzzy neutrosophic semi closed sets.
